Each art activity is governed by one or more constraints. Constraint is liberty. And so on.
And if you have been, thanks for looking.

Hi im a Canadian artist (admittedly a comic artist) and have just recently discovered the work of Oupeinpo, though i have always enjoyed alfred jerry writings and ramblings! Though im still looking for a painter that encorporates the restrictions of the Oulipo into artwork as mathmatically as they do prose and word puzzels. It seems painting and graphics has really taken on this metaphorical edge and disregarded alot of what appreciate from the constrictions of the writers! is there any artist you know that i could chat about this topic! oh... and zombie art rocks!

Hello crazieburd, thanks for your comment… we do (in OuPeinPo) also do strictly constrained, perhaps mathematical things, quite equivalent to - even stricter than - OuLiPo's prose etc. The best way to learn about it is to buy or borrow the OuPeinPo book which is featured as an Amazon connection on my blog. It's in French, but perhaps you are francophone too, there in Canada, and if not it's anyway intuitively easy to grasp most of the mechanisms. Best wishes!
